SolidWorks Model Foam Airplane Tutorials

Welcome to Our SolidWorks 2010 and Mastercam X4 Model Foam Airplane Tutorials. We use SolidWorks 2010 to design our airplanes and Mastercam X4 and Mastercam for SolidWorks to create CNC toolpaths to cut the fuselage. 17. SW10 to MCX4. In this tutorial you open your SW10 fuselage file in Mastercam X4. In Mastercam X4 you rotate solid fuselage into the correct Mastercam XY planes to cut on mill, create a wireframe centered around the solid for Blend Toolpath and loft flat cut surface. Also, your create new WCS view for bottom cut toolplane. Units all inches.

18. Fuselage toolpaths. Create Toolpaths to cut fuselage from Dow’s Scoreboard EPS Polystyrene: 1) Top cut using Finish Blend. 2) Copy Top Cut Toolpath and Paste to create Bottom Cut Toolpath. Uses CO2 fixture to hold foam in mill. Units all inches.

  19. Mastercam X4 for SolidWorks Toolpaths. 1) Top cut using HST Finish Raster machining angle 90 or across the X axis. 2) Copy Top Cut Toolpath and Paste to create Bottom Cut Toolpath all within SolidWorks. Uses CO2 fixture to hold foam in mill. Units all inches.

  20. Mastercam X4 for SolidWorks Toolpaths. 1) Top cut using HST Finish Raster and Waterline with machining angle 0 or along the X axis. 2) Copy Top Cut Toolpaths and Paste to create Bottom Cut Toolpaths all within SolidWorks.
CAMWorks   21. CAMWorks Toolpaths. Top cut and Bottom cut toolpaths across the X axis all within SolidWorks.
