Welcome to our SOLIDWORKS Rings and Things Tutorials. The tutorials are written for SOLIDWORKS 2014.

All tutorials use metric units except the Belt Buckle.

Part 1. Heart sketch. Uses new 2014 Style Spline sketch tool. If you are using a older version of SOLIDWORKS click here to use Foot Stool Heart. This heart tutorial uses the Spline sketch tool.

2. Ring Band with Hearts.

Part 3. Ring with Cudacountry Text. Click here for the cudacountry ring sketch DXF file. Click here for cudacountry ring sketch AI file. The AI file can be easily edited to add your own text or logo. Then, export the AI file as a DXF file.
Part 4. Skull and Cross Bones Sketch and Block. Skull and bones are sketched in 3 sketches and combined in one sketch using Convert Entities. Then, made into Block.
Part 5. Ring Aye Matey. Use Surfaces to create "setting" for Chapter 4's Skull and Cross Bones block.

6. Mastercam Belt Buckle. Units are inches. Draw Mastercam Belt Buckle and use Mastercam X7 for SOLIDWORKS toolpaths Dynamic Area Mill, 2D Rest Mill and Contour to cut out buckle. Also Circle Mill toolpath to cut holes for holding fixture and to mount clips to attach buckle to belt. Create top cut WCS to offset origin and bottom cut WCS for bottom cut holes. New in 2014 is the Style Spline used to draw heart. Style Spline can be dimensioned to the control vertex points.
